When Does Season 4 Maintenance Start?

Fortnite downtime for Chapter 3 Season 4 has been announced by Epic Games for this weekend, with the development team preparing to launch a massive update.

Fans will soon have access to a brand new season of content, including fresh themes, map changes and a new Battle Pass.

Much of what is being planned is still under wraps, although Epic has started offering a few teasers. This includes a look at a new chrome substance that has been repeatedly shown taking over characters and objects.

There’s no doubt that Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 will be a little different, with everything starting with scheduled maintenance this weekend.

When Does Fortnite Season 4 Downtime Start?

Fortnite Downtime will start at 11pm PDT / 2am EDT / 7am BST on Sunday, September 18, with servers going offline for several hours.

It should be noted that those in the Pacific time zone will see the game go offline the day before, due to timezones, but all versions of the game will be updated simultaneously.

The game is expected to be down for several hours and will be back online later on September 18 with a new update to download across PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Switch and Mobile.

Epic has wanted that this week’s patch will be larger than usual as it will contain everything needed for the start of Season 4.

The latest message from Epic Games reads: “v22.00 releases on Sunday, September 18 with downtime beginning at 2 AM ET.

“We’ll provide another update when maintenance has concluded. Please note patch sizes will be larger than normal for all platforms.”

More on what’s coming next will be shared by Epic over the coming days, including new trailers sharing the upcoming Battle Pass and theme. New map changes are expected, and with no event expected to drop, this will provide everything fans will need to know regarding what’s coming next.

The Fortnite team has also warned fans to spend all their remaining currency and try to complete any remaining Battle Pass tiers available. To help things along, Bargain Bin Week has returned to the Island, with exotic item trades and Character services deeply discounted for the remainder of Chapter 3 Season 3 before Bar stashes reset next Season.
