Opening Day At Dodger Stadium Vs. Diamondbacks

The 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers begins with an Opening Day matchup at Dodger Stadium against the Arizona Diamondbacks on March 30. It’s the first time the Dodgers will play a season opener at home since 2020.

They were initially scheduled to do so this season, but changes brought about by the MLB lockout resulted in the Dodgers facing the Colorado Rockies on the road for Opening Day a second consecutive year. The Dodgers and Diamondbacks last met on Opening Day in 2019, which was a historic win for L.A.

The 2023 MLB schedules are bringing about more balance for all 30 teams since Interleague play was implemented in 1997. Thus, the Dodgers will only make two visits to opposing National League West cities and play a total of 52 divisional games (down from 76).

Every team will now play 46 Interleague games, which is an increase from 20. Per usual, the Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels each will host the Freeway Series — June 20-21 in Anaheim, and July 7-8 at Dodger Stadium.

Also keeping with tradition, the Dodgers are at home on Jackie Robinson Day, facing the Chicago Cubs at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, April 15.

Like with the 2022 season, the Dodgers have the Sunday (July 9) before the All-Star Game off. The Seattle Mariners are hosting the 2023 All-Star Game at T-Mobile Park on Tuesday, July 11.

Dodgers 2023 schedule highlights

The Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays meet for the first time since the 2020 World Series during a three-game set at Tropicana Field from May 26-28. The New York Yankees come to L.A. for three games June 2-4, and the Houston Astros make a visit to Dodger Stadium for a three-game series from June 23-25.

Mookie Betts returns to Fenway Park on Aug. 25 for his first time playing the Boston Red Sox since the February 2020 trade.

The 2023 Dodgers schedule finishes with a seven-game road trip against the Rockies and Giants. The road trip begins with a scheduled split doubleheader at Coors Field on Sept. 26, 2023. The final day of the 2023 MLB regular season is Sunday, Oct. 1.
