Onna no Sono no Hoshi Comes Alive in First Anime OAD Trailer

from Onna no Sono no Hoshi

Last month, it was announced that josei manga Onna no Sono no Hoshi (“Hoshi in the Girls’ Garden”) would be getting animated—specifically, as a straight-to-video Blu-ray bonus for the upcoming third volume of the manga. Today, we get our first look at the popular series in motion.

The minute-long trailer also gives us our first listen to Gen Hoshino (Buddha in Saint Young Men) as title character Hoshi-sensei and Mamoru Miyano (Light Yagami in Death Note) as his colleague, Kobayashi-sensei.

A key visual has also dropped, zooming in on an exhausted-looking Hoshi-sensei, with his students lining the bottom of the image:

The project is directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama (Shōwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjū) from a script by Teruko Utsumi (Sarazanmai).

Onna no Sono Hoshi follows Hoshi-sensei as he experiences everyday adventures such as getting picked on by the girls in the daily classroom journal, getting saddled with looking after the class’s pet dog, giving art advice to aspiring manga authors, and sometimes going out to drink with his coworkers. The special edition volume three of Onna no Sono no Hoshi will be published in Japan on December 08, 2022.
