Newcastle United vs AFC Bournemouth LIVE: Bruno and Burn return to starting XI

Hello and welcome to our live blog coverage of Newcastle United vs AFC Bournemouth from St James’ Park. The Magpies have had two weeks to reflect on the frustrations of the goalless draw with Crystal Palace following last weekend’s postonements, and will be raring to go today.

United could be boosted by the returns of key players Allan Saint-Maximin and Bruno Guimaraes, although Callum Wilson is expected to miss out once more. Alexander Isak will be hopeful of getting his first St James’ Park goal after coming so close last time out.

New signing Loris Karius is expected to be on the bench as goalkeeping cover for Nick Pope as Newcastle push for what would be only their second Premier League win of the season. Of course they have lost only once – and that to a late goal at Anfield.

Bournemouth were buoyed by their 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest – after being 2-0 down – but have also suffered several heavy defeats already this season, 9-0 at Liverpool and 4-0 to Manchester City.

We’ll have all the latest today as it happens, with post-match reaction and analysis to come on the final whistle.
