Egyptian Theatre to host Anime Film Festival – Northern Star

The Egyptian Theatre, located at 135 N. Second Street, DeKalb, is set to host an anime film festival Saturday at 6 p.m. The event is free to all NIU Students along with the general public.

DeKALB – The Egyptian Theatre is hosting an Anime Film Festival this Saturday at 6 p.m. The festival is sponsored by the NIU Division of Academic Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion along with the NIU Asian American Resource Center and is free for all who would like to attend.

 The movies set to be featured include “The Girl Who Leaped Through Time” at 6 p.m. and “Akira” at 8 p.m. “The Girl Who Leaped Through Time” follows the story of a teenaged time traveler whose ability is starting to affect those around her. “Akira” is the story of two friends with one having psychic powers and the other having to keep him from a path of violence. Both films will be showing the English dubbed version.
